Angela Argento
Chair
Angela Argento attended the New School of Drama, studying under Tony Pearce, a former student of the legendary teacher, Sanford Meisner at the Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York City. She is a principal partner in Lock & Load Productions Inc. which is about to start shooting it’s first feature film, “Last Chance” in the fall of 2019. Currently, she is writing / developing a new short, “Fractured Fairytales” as well as developing a one hour series with Jinder C. Chalmers, “Breaking Habits”.
Angela co-produced the award winning short, “The Sweetest Hippopotamus” which was nominated for a DGC award, she also wrote and produced “Haiti Unplugged” which won the Silver award at the Houston World Film Festival.
Angela is proud and honoured to serve as chair of the Female Eye Film Festival as well, she is also one of the festival’s senior programmers.
Jinder Oujla-Chalmers
Vice Chair
Jinder is the creator and producer of a four hour mini series entitled, Oceans Apart which is in development with CBC Her recent book Terminal Forest Products was published by Harbour Publishing in 2019. she was also the brains behind the one- hour drama series for ABC TELEVISION /SHAWMEDIA Inc. and Sienna Films entitled, Combat Hospital. Jinder was given the green light by Shawmedia Television with an order of 13 episodes slated for 2011. She is also the creator and producer of a feature film with Mystique Films entitled, Elvis & Mrs. Singh and recently won “Best Fresh Voice” in the Female Eye Festival.
In 2007, Jinder directed several episodes of the hit series X-Weighted and developed a drama series entitled, My Life. Also in 2007 she produced, wrote and directed a one-hour documentary entitled, No Ordinary Man, based on the life of Alberta Premier Ralph Klein. In 2006, she also worked on a movie called, Code of Silence. Her partners in this endeavor are APTN and Omni Films Productions. Jinder also co-wrote two episodes for CBC’s series, 49th and Main and produced, wrote and directed two national documentaries, Colour Blind for the NFB and Going Beyond the Pain for Vision.
Christine Argyris
Christine Argyris is a member of ACTRA and an Alumni of The Second City Comedy Theatre. In front of the camera, Christine has over 20 years experience in acting, voiceover, animated voiceover work and modelling. A strong background in sports, she has also coached Rep Basketball in Ontario empowering young girls in sports. Christine wore the hat of Associate Producer for Enriching Pictures and Marketing Assistant for the film “Hansel & Gretel” which made its film debut at the Cannes Film Festival. She also was a Production Assistant for several years at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for various films. Christine has been on the Board of Directors of the Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF) as Secretary for the last three years.
Martin Harbury
As an Independent Producer, Writer and Director, Martin’s many productions have won awards in Canada and around the world. He has worked in every sector of the film and television industries; in drama and documentary, as a network executive at CBC, and as a film funder for the Ontario government.
He was a founding member of the Television branch of the Academy of Canadian Film and Television, and a board member of the Actors Fund of Canada. Martin is also an author of several non-fiction books as well as a theatrical director and dramaturge. He has just completed his first novel and started on the next one.
Tushar Unadkat
Internationally celebrated, multiple award-winning media personality, Tushar Unadkat, CEO, Creative Director of MUKTA Advertising and Founder, Executive Director of Nouveau iDEA, Canada holds a Master of Design from the University of Dundee, Scotland, and an Honors Degree in Photography from University of Wolverhampton, England.
Most recently Tushar Unadkat was nominated for the 2019 Men of Honour Award, under Business Excellence Category in Canada. Finalist for 2019 and 2014 Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award, Unadkat executed art direction in the film, fashion, events, and advertising industries in the USA, England, Scotland, France, Germany, Netherlands, India, and Canada. Winning 22 international awards, Unadkat has worked with Oscar-winning producers and India’s National Award-winning designers making a significant name in the Western Cross-Over Film-Industry earning credits on more than 30 films in his portfolio and gaining rave reviews in the international film festival circuits. The 12th Annual ReelWorld Film Festival then honored Unadkat as being Canada’s Trailblazer in 2012.
Unadkat’s largest contribution to the artistic community is Nouveau iDEA: New International Dimension in Entertainment and Arts, an NPO that disseminates information, produces and promotes international arts: www.nouveauidea.net
In Toronto, Tushar dedicates his time to more altruistic endeavors; he is a board member for diverse organizations. However, his pursuits are still international, and he successfully executes the direction of cinema and media arts management in Canada and abroad.
