At the Colina cemetery, where they once came to visit another teenager murdered in theirneighborhood, Carlos now visits his best friend. There, where they used to listen to reggaetón andeat roast chicken together, lies Matías, a boy just twelve years old. On a news website reporting Matías's death, Larraín, the driver of the car that killed him, is praisedfor the incident, with commenters celebrating their good fortune of having "one less" in the city. Larraín, a senior business executive, speeds down the street in his luxury car and hits Matías, whois running from a security guard with Carlos. At the supermarket, Matías steals disposable baby diapers he wanted to give to Maca, a schoolgirlfrom the same impoverished area as Matías and Carlos, who recently became a mother. The three young people, together with Matías's mother, Maribel, share burgers and fried eggs intheir humble home on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile. The kids play before eating, on what turns outto be Matías's last day. From this point on, the sequences run at normal speed and appear in chronological order: we seethe kids eating with the mother, then stealing the diapers, running out of the supermarket, and in thechaos of the escape, Matías is run over by Larraín. He reads the comments online, where citizenspraise him for killing Matías, and Carlos visits him at the cemetery, where he eats roast chicken byhis grave. This sequence repeats in this order, framed against a black background, until the imagedisappears completely.
